Business is tricky, and artists need more funding for their projects. Once again, sadly, I did not receive the funding I applied for. Here is some background information: It takes weeks, sometimes months, to prepare an application, and the time I have invested in it is valuable because I wish I could have already used the time to record and produce the new songs. Instead, I typed like a fool, believing I could have a chance—stupid me. 

 

It is difficult to fight when you feel like you are alone in this. Throughout all these years, however, I built my universe where I connected with people around the globe. I played in 26 different countries, and I met so many of you and got to know your city, language, food, and much more. I could share many fantastic experiences from every country I have visited, which means I am against cliches and stereotypes, but this would take too long.

 

Maybe you saw me playing live, found me on a new Spotify playlist, or heard my songs on the radio. Somehow, you heard of me and decided to follow. Because of you, I know I am not entirely alone, so I keep fighting and trying. 

 

As you know, English is not my native language; however, I grew up listening to American and Canadian songwriters, which led me to believe back then that I, as a very young East German folk, could do that, too. Side Note: Before the wall!

 

People keep asking how they can support me financially for my Remedy project since they know I am a one-woman warrior. This gives me hope, and I decided to restructure my donation platform where people can send money if they want to.

 

What fascinates me about writing songs is that mine are filled with different aspects and cultural perspectives. For example, when I write a love song, it isn't only an American way of approaching the emotion in a song composition, but also a German or an Italian way and many more. After the wall, my family and I spent every summer in Spain and France. Luca and I traveled to Russia and China for long tours and had a great time in the UK and Ireland, too. I adore you, guys.

I love to let my songs get influenced by many ways of understanding life, and this is what I want to keep growing. Even if my music sounds American to my German fellows, and maybe also different to the American ear, I love creating my songs how I like them. It was part of my childhood when I listened to E.L.O., Michael Jackson, Alanis Morissette, Sting, Eric Clapton, Sheryl Crow, Joni Mitchell, and so many more.

 

I am beyond grateful. I can't thank you enough, and I truly appreciate your love and care. Every donator will be mentioned as a supporter/donator on my homepage, tagged on social media, and thanked officially in a post.
